Default 2009 cobalt ss/tc automatic swap

build in progress, but she's just about finished (finally)
working out a much easier solution for you guys once a few more parts show up. hopefully have it tested next weekend and all will be well.... fingers crossed

finally got a good amount of work done yesterday, still having that bull**** throttle issue, but it's getting better. 14.7 psi and this thing moves.
too bad the massive burnout I did wasn't on tape, but it's not bad.
Didn't realize mezz was only at 1/2 throttle trying to spool on the converter.

well anyway, a little vid for you guys, much more to come soon
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNvH7GOoSyo

    what a ****ing nightmare

All this stems from 28.5 psi from a gt3076r on pump gas w/meth injection = exploding 3rd gear from a roll.
anyway, car is back together, just waiting on a new harness to come in as this one was beyond fixing.

stay tuned for some good updates in the next 2-3 weeks

mmm sweet. so did you have any plans to wire up some paddle shifters? or just leave it with the floor unit and not pick a gear per say.

thanks man, totally forgot I signed up back in feb, never got my confirmation email lol.

but the car is coming along, but it's starting in limp mode due to some shorts in the harness, which I gave up on tracing after about 15 hours lol.
it's a 4t45e case, but I dunno exactly whats done to the trans yet, big fan cooled trans cooler up front, and a 3500 rpm stall converter for ****s and giggles.
it's definitely a hi-brid of some sort though as the axle outputs are different from the standard 4t45 or 4t65, using a 99 v6 grand am axle on the driverside and a g6 v6 axle on the passenger side (have a spare hhr ss axle for driverside though).
Big ups to john though (powell of course) for making this happen. The different gear ratio on the tc's definitely over powers the trans on big boost and hence the kaboom.
Hopefully if things actually start going right, we are trying to get this as the first stock motor car to break into the 10's. right now on 52% throttle the thing comes out of the hole wicked, just trans tune is off and some other things aren't quite right.

hopefully have some good news soon, can't wait to get this thing to the track.

yeah I have a thread up on there, not too popular lol.
supposedly the trans is beefed up quite a bit, definitely seems like it is. but we shall see once the boost starts getting back up to the 30psi range

floor unit, not a big fan of the flappy paddle's lol.
once this trans kills itself. it's getting rebuilt with a trans brake, manual valve body, and some sort of ratchet shifter will be installed, but that's a year or so down the line. Right now just tryin to make it all work together.

I will tell you this though, this is the best way to line up your axles lol. Moved the whole drivetrain a tad over an inch forward

Loading up the trans with the longer FD makes waaay too much load for em.

Once my second one goes, I will get a HHR SS box, and get my longer gears by revving longer

What's great about the auto you guys have is there is soooo many off the shelf parts out there to make it stronger. You really can almost bulletproof em

ah didnt know if you wanted to be able to pick gears for when on the street so you could drop down and pass a honda but this may turn into a track only car?
