Default How To Replace A Crank Position Sensor

    Tools Needed
    Rachet Wrench
    15mm Socket
    Universal Joint
    3" extension
    10mm socket
    Tiny Hands with Long Fingers!

First thing first, get your sensor.
    Next, Disconnect the battery.

Then remove the two 15mm bolts in the starter.
(Red)Front bolt is easy to see and remove.
([Blue)Rear bolt is impossible to see and hard to get to.
Get your ratchet + 3" extension + universal joint + 15mm socket(in that order) snake it in behind the starter and the block use one hand(if you can) to get the socket on the bolt by reaching over the top of the starter.
With the bolts removed, pop the starter out of the block(leave all the wires on the starter, if you take them off it will just take you longer to do the job) and move it towards the passenger side of the car as possible.

(Red)Then remove the 10mm bolt holding the sensor in.
(Blue)Unplug the sensor from the harness.

Then just pull the sensor out of the block.

Next unplug the harness from the sensor.
Old sensor on the left(has oil on it), new on the right.

Then do those steps backwards with the new sensor.
Finally do a CASE Learn and your set.

Thanks to Maven for his directions/pointers he gave me.

A stubby ratcheting box wrench will make quick work of the top starter bolt as well.

youve got an L61, and probably without ABS.....makes a huge difference in access. This is the "recommended" way though
