    Default The P90X Thread

Hey guys, with the new Workout/Diet section on here I thought it might be a good idea to make a thread specifically for those of us doing P90X. Just somewhere where we can discuss it, ask questions, give advice, etc.

Personally, I'm only 2 weeks into it. I started not because of weight (I only weigh 135-140 lol), but just to get in better shape, more toned, and improve my cardio and agility. So far it's a helluva challenge but I love it. Even after the first week, I can already feel a difference when doing the workouts.

    What about you guys?

    Bring It!!! (and love yourself).

I am a registered Beachbody Coach (20% discount on all products) and have P90X, Slim in 6, Hip Hop Abs and Turbo Jam. I've done a little of all of them and they are all quality workouts. P90X is by far the most difficult and gives the most results for what it is. I really need to get motivated into working out though. I'm in the same boat as you Ross. Right around 6' and 140ish pounds. Played soccer in the spring and marching band (better cardio than you'd think) in the fall in high school and it kept me in pretty good shape. I just want tone.

Problem Numero Uno: I'm a bit lazy.

I need to find a motivation to do it.

Same here, I just gotta get the motivation and discipline to do it. I've been doing well, but I've been side-tracked for the last week because I haven't been feeling too great.

I think I'd be too self-conscious of my skinny-ness to go there

Really they are just a bunch of normal ppl who have or are looking to turn their lives around health wise. I mean you see how skinny I am and at that point I had only been a coach for like 4 weeks. My biggest piece of advice straight out of the gate though. Try to use real weights whenever possible. The resistance bands work, but you get SO much more out of real weights. They only time I advise using the bands is when traveling. You just don't see the same results.

Yea I've been using real weights. I wanna go out and get a better set with more weights though just because for some exercises I need less and some I need more. 20lb-ers might not be much but after that one hour on Shoulders and Arms, they're a lot lol

Oh yeah. You keep hearing Tony say, "Always check your weight." If you need to go lighter then go lighter and then like you said on some workouts you might be able to use more. When I asked Tony for advice on working out concerning my size he told me to just be careful and don't try to go too big too quickly because it will be easy to hurt myself.

Back in highschool I think what kept me motivated was the competition to play the most and be the fastest player on the field and to do that we did a lot of core and cardio.
