New Section Thoughts

sub section this for me....deserves its own section overall. detailing needs to be away from everything as theres many products, techniques, complications, questions and things that will need to be answered. its harder to sift through a thread about a million and one things and get people the answers they need.

A detailing thread would be more than enough honestly.

A whole section for it would have 1 MAYBE 2 threads in it, and all the info for that section would be in those two threads.

it would have more i think. people clean their cars all the time. the more the site grows the more people will have questions about the stuff. theres already a few of us detailers on here like myself and sun devil. like i said whats hard is when people have questions about something on the paint, or products. now we have to sift through pages of stuff to try and find out what they said or what we said in the past or to try and give multiple opinions on something. i think a a detail thread would be great and as the site grows it will grow just like every section on here.

And you act like moderation doesn't happen.

If you took that thread and made a write up on a full correction(what a small percentile will do), one on a clay/wax job(what the majority will do), you'll cover almost all bases, and as new questions come up, people can either PM the guys who know in there(obviously the people posting up the detailing details ) or will bump the thread.

I can't make new sections, Maven can...but IMO it will be like most of the regional forums...posted in for a week, then forgotten about.

thats the main reason i suggested a sub forum or something like the club section has under apperance. it would make things easier if when the sites gets big. just saying. i understand your reasoning aswell.


people wouldnt do paint correction because most people dont have the knowledge to sit there and practice buffing a junk panel or something first. they go right for the kill screw up their paint and then never do it again or get scared of horror stories from people burning paint. no write up will ever give a detailer practice just give them knowledge of maybe what products to do and what speeds to start at. a detailer only gets good by doing something first hand.

Exactly. Right now the thread I made is just fine for the number of members we have on here. But as this site gets bigger, most of that information will be lost.
