Might be old news but I just got a letter from Saturn informing me that my 04 is covered by the power steering recall.
Also included is a form to fill out if I had payed out of pocket for repairs in the past so they could pay me back.

I've spent 90% of my money on cars, guns and airplanes.
The rest I've wasted.
Very old news. I think I got my letter quite some time ago.

I know it's old for the balts but last I heard this didn't apply to Ions

Its relatively new for the Ions. ANd its slightly different..... On the Balts/G5/Pursuit its a campaign(recall, lasts forever until its done to vehicle) and is supposed to be done on any car that comes into the dealer and the people have the letter or their VIN is in the computer even if they dont have the failure.
On the Ions (2003 not included) its not a recall. Its an extended warranty(10yrs/100,000miles). And is only supposed to be done if the car has the failure,

that's good to know. I've moved twice since I bought my car so I know there's no way for me to have that letter.
yeah the ions is not a recall, its a special coverage policy...so it has time and mileage parameters...if your outside of them, than it won tbe fixed. also the car has to have the problem to have it repaired under the special policy...so if your not having the problem, they arent going to fix it. but if you have had the problem you can seek reimbursement for the repair as long as it was done within the time and mileage paramters of the special coverage...if anyone has questions on it, i can do my best to answer them, but i do this 8hrs a day, mon-fri...so dont mind me if i take a bit to answer
also i did go thru and re-read the GM policies and procedures manual and saw a interesting note on the saturn brand and crossline warranty repairs...dont know if all dealerships know about it though...from what i read all gm franchised dealers can work on saturn vehicles under warranty.
^^^but that will vary as i have heard otherwise around the floor...i dont work the saturn brand so im not to sure...but some say they have to be authorized...yet the PnP manual says they are all authorized...could just be a training thing or something....
Authorized just means a GM dealer. Anyone can do warranty work, but only "Authorized Saturn Service Centers" can order parts.

i got the letter for my car..
ive had it kick out for a few seconds a few times.. when i've hit big bumps but it hasn't happened in a while so idk if they'll fix mine .. and i'tll be fun to see what they say about my car lol
some go fast modsi whistle and sneeze now
So i take it since the Saturns do not have a recall they are different part numbers than what's on the balts?
I'm all about derailing the bandwagon.
ive check the bulletin and see if its the p/n...i think they use the same replacement as the balt, but i will double check
Deathscythe don't need no power steering!
