Emissions Standard and the EPA are the enemy... not GM. The LNF doesn't meet new Emissions Standards. That's what the GM Engineer at the CED Meet said, at least.

how could this be, im finding it hard to believe that a 2.0 turbo cobalt puts out worse emissions than a 5.0 gas guzzling new mustang gt.... the govt can suck a diiiiick

I think the standards are based on the number of cylinders the motor has... but I don't know for sure. Just an educated guess.

I remeber reading a while back that one reasons that the LSJ was replaced for the LNF becuase it didn't meet standards for emissions. I'm sure there was more, but this is one

When compared to the SS, the new GT isn't really much of a gas guzzler at all. 17/26 isn't bad at all for a V8

I take it that Tim Allen is Chevy's new spokesman, he seems to be the voice behind all of the Cruze commercials

no no no. they need better emission engines to compensate for their gas guzzling large vehicles. their over all fleet has to meet X mpg and co2 output etc. So the lnf was good yes but the 1.4l T has better numbers. If they had 30mpg trucks they could loosen up on the smaller engines and do more performance..its a trade off.

Next person who thinks the Cruze at launch is supposed to be some hot rod vehicle needs to stop and open their eyes.

Because all I see is the same typical responses about the lowest output/highest MPG engine because everyone is so DAMN obsessed with turbo=performance.

Stop and think about it for a second.

How much aftermarket does the Civic have?

Chevy wants to sell a car that outsells that car...name a Civic that was a performance demon BONE STOCK.

Thank you, now shut up...sit back...and wait for the DAMN thing to come out before you start whining about the stupid ♠♠♠♠...and realize there is a gas crisis...and instead of rationing gas like they did in the 80s, along with make some of the most lackluster vehicles EVER, a whole fleet has to achieve a certain MPG...AND emission standards.

At least Chevy won't have to drop their trucks and label them as their own brand like Mopar...and it will be thanks to the Cruze.

    Cruze SS, or Corvette/Camaro?

Personally, I would rather see the latter exist...even if I could never own one.
