how exactly does having a signature & avatar "spread the knowledge"?

the only "knowledge" anyone puts in their signature is stuff about their car and the avatar is usually a goofy picture.

^^^^this. I actually hate my green avatar emblem, but thats life. I am a blue sort of guy. Interesting tho' as this site grows some things are more important to peeps, things I never considered. But welcome, grab a beer post good info, and lets hammer down.....Oh and OP I am not sure I like ugly turtle pictures, no offense intended...
