most of this site is HPTuners users.... we do our own tuning.
Vince does good work, but unfortunately there is usually lots of room for improvement
Trifecta is a great tune for what it is. It is a bit conservative, but does make some good power. I'm personally running a select-a-tune from vince and I think it's plenty of power. Besides, I am working with vince now to bring some more features to the LNF tunes... like a user adjustable launch control..keep an eye out for it.
only problem for me right now is i have constant misfire when i shift from 2nd to 3rd with nls. other than that it runs good. hopefully he can fix that and then ill hopefully find someone on here that does good hp tunes that can write on top of the trifecta one
thats because you are doing it wrong.... and NLS'ing is really bad when you make big power.... say goodbye to clutch and shift cables.
it will misfire on a NLS when you don't do it fast enough.
trust me in doing it fast enough. the timing is off or something. before the tune when i would nls it would be perfect i dont see y i would suddenly forget how to do it.
uh because you are getting there quicker.... and adding a tune would not cause a NLS to misfire. Unless he made your car stupid rich like he tends to do from time to time.
And the biggest reason is 99% of NLS misfires are user error not tune error.![]()
so ur saying from now on no powershift of any kind..im gonna have to drop the quick shifting like that? i would think that doing that would kill my quarter mile times.
Dude I ran 12.90's without NLSing my car... you have to understand we have GOBS of low end torque when you NLS like that it's a HUGE strain on the drivetrain.
I have NLS'd maybe 5 times its' really uneeded when the turbo spools at like 2200 rpms
And the fact that the tach and speedo can't keep up with our acceleration you may think you are getting the timing right, but the tach is 500-1000 rpm below where the engine is... makes things gooo blamo
thank you for enlightening me man. im just trying to make sure im getting all i can out of the tune.
yeah, find out what your AFR is... he has a bad tendency to make them really really rich
I've been running an HP Tune on top of the base Trifecta tunable tune to get rid of the cat warmup mode, raised boost control duty cycle to 95% up top and raised fuel pressure. Things HPT can't give us LNF guys and prob never will. Still couldn't get enough fuel into the DI window to do E85 even at 2700 psi. Ran out of fuel & tripped a low fuel rail pressure CEL & limp mode. It rocks on 50% ethanol though.

yea ill try and find out.. ive gotten a code that goes on and off for lean. and before the tune it was on and off for rich. so i think maybe hes over compensating for one or the other.
Thats fine.... fuel pressure for stock turbo guys on great 93 octane is a moot point. And as it gets cold I don't wanna deal with E in the cold weather.
yea that guy who uploaded the trifecta tune for me told me that im tuned for e85 but i dont think thats the case
