How I tuned it, was to make sure the car went into PE (power enrinch) when the turbo would spool.. by doing this I had to figure out at exactly what throttle position/rpm, my turbo would spool, thus switching it into PE, which basically dumps fuel in. It took quite a bit of fine tuning... and we got it pretty damn accurate.. but it is still impossible to make it 100% via this method... This is where boost at partial throttle CAN become dangerous when running a boosted J, you can hit lean spots, because it's creating boost but the PCM has no idea and can't compensate for it.
SOME 1997 Js/PCMs came speed density, so they have the ability to tune for this, as it uses MAP vs RPM to fuel, so it is much more accurate. Some can swap to this PCM.
A supercharger can be tuned pretty accurately being run off the pulley it's very predictable, a turbo system is just a bitch. lol.
