    Default went to the track...dissapointed

so i made a few runs yesterday @import faceoff... i was quite dissapointed in my runs...after looking through saab forums...most people run mid to low 15's stock...one guy said best he could do, as as far as he had seen from other members was the bes so far was 15.0...so my goal was to hit 14's....I failed....best 2 runs of the day were.......

    15.05@95mph >>>beat a pontiac g8 who ran a 15.06@100mph
    60ft. 2.4

    15.10@94mph
    60ft 2.4

-Car is pretty much stock except the FMIC and the intake, both of which dont add any power...
-tires are cheap barum tires, 215/55/16, they are well below the wear bar trying to get another month out of them to buy new wheels and tires w/income tax
-not using traction control would kill my times...w/out traction control i ran 15.6@93mph twice

So next on my list is new wheels and tires, 3" downpipe, 2.5" megan exhaust(OE-RS series) and a tune(still debating on who, if vtuner releases their tune in the nest 2-3 months, i'll pick it up)

    pics:

as reference cars.com has these stats for performance:

    Estimated Performance Specs
    0-60 mph 6.88 seconds
    1/4 mile 15.46 seconds at 91.45 mph
    Lateral acceleration .87 g
    Slalom 61 mph

Improve the 60ft and you're golden.

Yeah your 60 ft is what's hurting you... I could hit 2.1s/2.2s all day on my 115 Bhp Cavalier when it was stock.. It will make a big difference to get that down a couple points.

Best 60fts I ever pulled were with my VR6 swapped 86GTI. Much better times than in my Cobalt.

60ft makes a big difference in your time though. Obviously, better tires are what will help out a ton.

I was getting 2.1s/2.2s in my SS as well. Both stock & 2.7d. I didn't run it much though, my X did most of the time, and the best he got was a 2.0 or 2.1.

Best I ever got with the SS, was like a 2.2, iirc. My car was always a million times better on the street... so I never took it to the track very often. GTI is a lot easier to launch though. I cracked a 2.0 on my first or second pass with it.

Nice.. 2.0s are very respectable with FWD cars. N yeah, the track can be a bitch to launch on too, so unless you run a car a lot, it CAN be harder to get consistant launches down, since the track is so much different feeling. Especially with a torquey car.

Jazer off topic, but for my 05 cavvy which has seized strut bearings, is there a better front spring for it? the book shows one spring for all 2005 Cavvy, codes BB, BC, BD,
BP, BR, BS, BT, C1, MA, MB, MD,MH.

    just wondering,,,

All 3rd gen (1995-2005) Jbody Strut assemblies are the same... you'd have to go aftermarket for a better spring & in that case you'd need aftermarket struts with them.

yeah im sure the 60ft is what i need to work with, i know with the balt the best i got was a 2.2 w/the bridgestone potenza re-01r's...also i need to work on launching the most...that was getting me...everytime i launched i would bog from traction control pulling timing...than i would have to accelarate from low RPMs...so im hoping better tires will solve this, will prob be getting some 235/40/17s when i get new wheels...

yeah i can turn it off, but i didnt get enough tries to really try and launch with no traction...i did 2 runs with it off...ran a 15.6 w/a 2.8 60ft....car was barely moving...i did a log of one of those runs...i stayed going 0mph for a bit....let me convert these log to a graph and ill post them...

    k fixed...
only plotted speed, boost and timing, i have engine coolant and RPM...but the graph is unreadable when putting RPM in, as it makes the Y axis go in increamants of 1000, and everything else look like a flat line
