Thread: Clutch M/C Question

A little more info and to follow up:

Here's the master cylinder I have in mind:

It's a nicely packaged m/c that doesn't take up much room. It's actually a copy of a Girling OEM piece that's on a bunch of different vehicles.

Good to know that the cranks are neutral balanced. If the Saab balancer works then I'll definitely use it.

Here's a thread on my build. It looked like this when I brought it home in 2008:

And this is what I'm hopin' it'll look like:

Well now that I've got things figured out for the most part I need to find a stock LNF flywheel. mkriebs, do you have any available?

I will ask the boss what we have laying around. There is a good chance we do. Need the clutch too or are you going aftermarket?

not trying to steal his buisness but Tom (the email Qwikredline gave you) is prob a better bet, IIRC autowrks does mostly aftermarket, tho he is LNF heavy (sad face as i have an LSJ) but if he can't help you hit up tom, or qwikredline.

We do alot of clutch upgrades, so I think we have a couple used ones laying around we could offload.

Yeah, my sentiments exactly. We could always keep an eye out for one too, depending whether he is in a hurry or not.

Personally, I would go with an aftermarket, but those aren't cheap.

depends on what he's gonna do with it IMO, if he's just gonna drive it on weekends/meets use an old stock one, if he's gonna play with it then yea aftermarket. jsut my .02C tho.

I just have personal issues with replacing a clutch, and not using the same brand's flywheel. Its something I am in therapy for, because i know it makes no difference if the flywheel is resurfaced properly, just personal preference/OCD.

Lol... good, it was getting expensive, haha. We can get anything for LSJ's, really, and all of our turbo kits will work on them too, so no worries. We just haven't had an LSJ to install it on, yet.

I'll eventually go with an aftermarket clutch but I could at least get the car rolling with the stock clutch.

As for plans for the car, it definitely won't be a daily driver or anything. I do race at Bonneville and I live in So Cal and the car is definitely going to make that trip. Otherwise it'll be a weekend warrior.

After digging around I finally come up with the clutch m/c size for the Chevy Colorado/GMC Canyon that happens to use a similarly sized hydraulic t/o bearing: 11/16". Woo hoo!

Also scored a low miles clutch and flywheel thanks to chuckit aka mr. airboat.
