Ecotec Swap Hybrid Vehicle 71 Chevy C10 SWB PU Truck HELP!!!!!
Hello to everyone, and hopefully I can pic a few brains to gather some info for my build.
I am building a 71 Chevy C10 with a Super Charger on an Ecotec with a Pontiac Solstice Transmission. I want to get the most info I can for this build, my biggest concern is wiring that engine, thats where I have run into a snag. I know that there are a lot on knowledge folks on the forum. I appreciate any help I can get. Any pics diagrams would be helpful. You can email me on the forum or at gcgxplosv1@yahoo.com

very interesting project you got on your hands.
i wish you the best of luck with it
sorry i don't have any info for you.

What motor do you have? That will ultimately decide the easiest route to use for buying a Wiring Harness/ECU.
[Thinks to Self]Maybe I should just use the LNF I am buying to transplant into an FC RX-7...[/thinking]

Well maybe if you could let us know what exactly you need we could help you out. Youll be able to find ECM pinouts in the Stickies section.
I need to engage in homicidal activity on a massive scale......

Planning to buy the Solstice GXP LNF would rather have the 2006 Saturn LSJ Redline Engine trying to figure out if I'm going to drive 9.5 hrs away to get it or have it shipped, not really big on buying things I can't put my hands on LOL. I want to make my own harness, what would really help is if someone knew the location of all the sensors, and could write it in on a drawing or pic of the engine and even better if someone had pics of the sensors and plugs and was able to write what they are. Thanks very much my Forum Family woring in the truck body right now. Hope to post pics soon.

I just finished the wiring on the LNF and i started by buying the engine harness from the GM Dealer. The one that came on the engine was damaged in the wreck. I thought that was all i needed but you have to have part of the body harness with the 58 pin connector to plug into the ECM. The engine harness has 2 connectors that plug into the body harness, X105 and X109. These 2 carry circuits from the engine harness to the body harness. It is quiet a task to build this harness. I purchased the full body harness and cut out the parts i didn't need.
If i ever do another project with the LNF engine, I will buy the complete wreaked car and just replace the damaged componets.
I could not find one aftermarket controller that would run this engine due to the direct injection so we used the ECM from the HHR SS.
Thanks, Chuck

C10 with an LNF motor, there's an interesting project. If you're needing any kind of standalone ECM tune made up you should see Vince over at Trifecta Performance, though it sounds like you've got that part figured out.
