    Default Cobalt threw 2 codes.

My dad has been driving the cobalt and he drives like a grandpa. Apperently the light has been on for a while.

    The codes are:

    P0102
    P0300

We went to Autozone and had them read it. As for the first code I know it has something to do with the MAF or MAP sensor and the only thing I ever did to the MAF was clean it once a while ago. Regarding the misfire code I know the sparkplugs haven't been change since we have owned it, about 25xxx miles. So I'm kind of thinking that might be the problem.

So I guess my questions are:

    1) Are there any common problems with MAFs or MAPs going bad on LE5s?
    2) What should my gap be on the spark plugs?

    Thanks.

Clean the MAF, replace the plugs with OEM iridiums, and go with it

Alright might have to do that. I'll pull them one day this week to see how they look.

Good chance that you have a broken wire in the insulation @ the MAF connector. Tug on the wires one at a time near the connector, if the wires broken the insulation will stretch out and break. If you find a broken wire its 99% likely that the P0300 set because the cars been driven with the mafunctioning MAF.

Alright well I took out the MAF and it looked fine, the wires were solid also.

Also pulled the plugs and have some pictures. I can never remember which side Number 1 is, but I started at the passenger side.

I bought the car with 45k on it and now it's at 70k. So that's at least 25k, not sure if the dealer put new ones in.

    Doubtful.

    It's like $30 for plugs.

Change them and see what happens.

Honesly, I ran coppers in mine for 20k with no issues, that was two sets of plugs, though.

Irids are cheaper in the long run.

Alright cool. I guess I'll go ahead and clean the MAF, clear the codes and see what happens.
