Thread: Fuel Issue After ZZP BRFPS Install...

I found what they were talking about, it's actually in the assembly of the stock regulator. You basically disassemble it like the directions show on the ZZP site and it's in the grey plastic housing. I didn't see much in there that would be a restriction, but we shall see when I fire it up...

neither did we. we shot 100psi through that line and something came flying out with the screen. trust me we didn't want to drop the tank like 6 times

Dropping the tank is definitely not as much fun as you would think on your own. Coming down is easy, going back up is a PITA w/ a 3" exhaust that can't come out unless you have it on a lift.

As far as blowing out the lines, I'm ghetto. I put as many psi through the lines as my lungs could handle...they make a nice whistle sound and taste funny...

Disassembled the whole assembly down to all the little pieces and pulled that screen out and cleaned that line as best as I could. She's purring as well as she could be until I finish tuning the MAF...

good to hear. pump sounds normal now?

seems to me like a BRFPS and a fuel filter should go hand in hand with installs. at least i have been through it and can pass on the advice to others

It was great last night, had about 2-1/2 gallons in it and when I would come to a stop it would actually maintain idle and not bounce around or anything.

Left for work this morning and it was still great...until I got on the highway. Light throttle in 4th and once it left vacuum into boost it cut out on me. The further I went the worse it got. Finally pulled over thinking I was just too low on gas but it still did it after I threw another gallon in. Tank was reading 1/8 tank. Does it need to be filled up all the way to work again properly after doing somehing like this?

I am basically stranded right now trying to decide if I should fill the tank andgive it a shot, as the problem did get worse as fuel diminished or to have it towed to a dealership where I know a tech...

fuel level shouldn't have anything to do with it. internet diagnosis is difficult with this

I hear ya. It is definitely something mechanical. Car idles fine and when I go to start moving it'll build boost/lose vacuum until it zeros out then cut out bad and vacuum will shoot up over 20.

I was just curious if the assembly needed to be filled win fuel or anything. I basicalled assembled it dry and then poured fuel in from the cap.

Bad vacuum source? Just throwing out an idea, I unfortunately don't know a whole lot about that system but from what I read on their site I can't see anything else hampering you going into boost.

The issue occurs w/ the stock setup. Took the BRFPS out of the equation first thing to make sure that wasn't it...

I think you must have done something wrong somewhere along the line. One of your connections is off or something. Hard to say for sure though.

Oh, I know it is something I did, but I am pretty sure it is more of a permanent issue like burnt-out pump. Everything went back together the way it came apart. The only thing I am slightly uncomfortable about is the stock regulator. Just need to read up more about it to better understand how it works so I know it is assembled properly...

you can eliminate the stock ball and spring tab regulator and it will function just like a return system. the car will have to be tuned for it though

Yeah, I know, but I still don't have HPT, so my hands are tied at the moment in needing the stock regulator to function normally...
