The TA cobalt had 4 of em. My guess is to disperse the stress caused by having hood pins.

i have the same hood...... main reason is because there is no provisions for a latch in the front.

^^^ troof. the air pressure under the hood at the hood latch area is considerable. Vented hoods make sense btw. But the T/A car as did all Grand Am race cars, needed 4 hood pins we tried two pins, did not work well at all

yess Matts is a honeycomb carbon race hood so lighter than the others etc...u know Matt goes 1st class doncha know?
