    Default LED headlight bulbs?

So anyone use LED headlight bulbs? Im looking for a pure white without getting HIDs...I got a set of 6k's sittingg in my drawer....

I read reviews...but the reviews were from halogen housing users...not projector users...so im wonder how a led bulb will light the road in the projector housing...

LED headlights dont have anywhere near the lumen output of of a quality halogen, let alone an HID. and 6k is too blue to be very bright.

If you already have them then just install them and give them a try, but the only LED headlights that are any good are the ones originally designed for the car/housing itself.

Such as ones from the OEM or aftermarket ones that make use of the entire headlamp instead of a single "bulb."

6k HID's are the best thing out there for the time being.

More white light =/= seeing better BTW.

Just pick up some 4300k bulbs for your HID kit and call it done.

and more blue = even worse night vision. Blue kills night vision. 4300k is the brightest, although a 5000k temp can appear brighter due to tricks of the eye.

I'm talking relative to what he desires as far as color temperature goes.

6k is the highest he can go before loosing usable light.

I'm not a fan of putting HIDs into halogen projectors, they aren't designed right, you get weird patterns and beam spread because the bulbs are designed different. But with that saod its usually stated that a QUALITY 5000k bulb with a good ballast gives the whitest light. A4300k bulb will actually put out more light (lumens) but they do actually have a yellow tinge to them. (This all talking about rebased HID bulbs for halogen sockets, there's an exception if you are talking real D2S HIDs) stay away from LEDs. For now. They still don't cut it for the ones your talking about. Get some of those luminics if you like them, otherwise I'd recommend getting yourself some Morimoto bulbs in 4300 or 5000. I agree that the 6000 is way to blue, it puts out way less light (about a 1000 less lumems,) and the blue light is hard on your eyes and makes it a bitch to see ♠♠♠♠ at night. I'm ditching the bulbs and ballasts that came with my retros because the ballasts do that color fluctuation ♠♠♠♠ to the bulbs and the bulbs are epic blue. Ill be replacing them with some Morimoto XB35 4300k bulbs and 3Five ballasts. Absolute best aftermarket stuff out there in my opinion.

Retrofitsource has the morimotos...think I will order me a set of the stg2 H7's in 5k. Says they're designed for halogen projector housings. Sucks they r only 35w...I would of like 55w...but they have a option for error eliminators so its not the end of the world...

Yeah, TRS is the place to get stuff from. And yes their rebased bulbs are supposed to be optimised for use in halogen projectors. My current retros are getting Morimoto 3Five ballasts and XB35 bulbs as a stop gap til I build my own retros. Those will probably be Morimoto Mini D2S with OSRAM bulbs. And those are just till I decide what I wanna do next

If you wanna jump straight to the very best, with a lot of work and cutting, talk to JL-KA on either css or hidplanet, he retrod a set of TL projectors into his car, which are easily the best bixenon projectors on the market today.

Im going be doing at least one simple retro build before I go for the gusto on my personal lights, just to develop the technique. Ive seen JL-KA's TL retro. My permanent lights will be FX-R's , TL's or slim possibility of using some LS460 BX's I was considering going modded S2K or LS430's but not sure if I can deal without highbeams.
