    Default 2871

hey guys, (and gals) i am about to replace my stock turbo w/ a new one, and was wondering if the gt2871r is a direct fit. would i need to change out my exhaust mani, hot side c/p, and intake?

also i know a lot of ppl suggest the bnr 2871, but isn't it the same as a garrett?

not a direct fit. everything needs to be changed. i wouldn't use the bnr turbo just because of the very small exhaust side

i dont think the bnr is a worthy upgrade. if your going to go to a bigger turbo get our stuff or zzps.

are you doing this for a performance upgrade? or just to get a new turbocharger on it?

well, i found a ♠♠♠♠ ton of oil in my charge pipe, enough to spray the inside of the hood right above my driver side headlight, which leads me to believe that it's donezo

and i'm not extremely rich, i'm just a lowely sgt in the army, so it's def. gotta be on a budget

i think the only setup that will go to the stock mani is the stock turbo or wait for zzps efr stuff. other then that everything needs a mani

well the downpipe is realy the only thing that wont work. you can get an adapter made to use your exsisting hotside pipe. the cold side pipe is the same as the one you already have. the catback should bolt right up. the only major difference is the turbo mani, turbo, downpipe.... then an transitional pipe from turbo to hotside.

how much power are you looking for? all the results from the bnr 2871 have been pretty good.. idk why people are insinuating otherwise

i dont think any of them have had any person experience with it either. and as far as rlfpro.. yea it doesn't have the capability of of pushing mid 400s .. however it's also 1200 instead of 3k+

some go fast mods i whistle and sneeze now

im not really looking into making a ♠♠♠♠ ton of power, i'm honestly looking more for a replacement since my k04 is blowing oil thru my charge pipe. i was just seeing if i could get something more for the same amount as the stocker

    My brand new, from Garrett, .64 A/R 2871R....was $895

The BNR is a waste...you make about 10 more whp up top than the LNF stocker does...

You unbolt ♠♠♠♠...it's real real straight forward...take your time though, don't be in a hurry.

Also I saw in your OP that you had blow by...some is ok...and as long as it's not changing your oil dipstick level you'll be fine.

It's a turbo, you're going to have some blow by

like steddy said i cant see the bnr being worthwhile and i HAVE had personal experiance with it. it made 5 more whp then our k04+ upgrade if that. doesnt really matter if you ask me. just get a replacement stocker or something
