    Wow thanks for this John!!!!

Finally got it straightend out. a guy on a local forum texted me saying he actually had the part at his oriley store.

    Saddly this wasnt the issue.

I am starting to think there is a conflict between the viper and factory alarm, or there is a bcm or ignition switch issue.

I can not start the car with the key. I have to turn the key to run and bump the starter to the jump post. . First step is finding a place to fully uninstall the remote start it was nice while it worked after that its down to either the bcm or ignition switch.

Then take it to a dealer for a powersteering fix then replace a lower ball joint then an alignment....

    When it rains it pours

Again thanks for trying John. I have never seen a vendor go as far as you do to help ppl.

Oh btw I have relocated to Columbus Ohio.

Matty: Nope, just saw the legs twitch a bit, must beat it more. not sure EVERYONE on this forum understands it just yet.

Oh I see, welcome to Columbus lol. Yes for sure, the aftermarket alarms play havoc with the GM circuitry/bcm and your Ion is class 2 to the engine and ps out of the BCM, and LAN to the back of the car.

Back in the day, when Corvettes started to get all sophisticated in the late '80's, aftermarket alarms and stuff wreaked havoc, you cant just "splice into a wire" without issues with expected resistances...

Glad you got fixed up...sort of....
