Default thinking fuel cut out.../running out

so when i was hopping on the freeway a few days ago i got to 5k rpm in 2nd and it felt like i lost most of my power for a sec. then it all came back and running like a raped ape till 7400 rpm.

currently mods are: k&n intake, 2.6"tvs, port and polished head, zzpvalve springs, dual pass, opt b, 79's, e85, fuel pump rewire kit, zzp lth, zzp 3" exhaust, griffin, and i think that is it lol too much to think of personally

also im boosting to 20-21 psi. im thinking that the brfps would a be a good idea!

Anyways what im maybe thinking is that i might get 1000cc injectors, brfps, and walbro....anyone think that would be the best thing? just trying to get ideas of i should do!

anyone know of or have a diagram for repinning the injector harness for the 1000cc injectors? if so could someone help me out with that! please!

thanks for everyone that has helped me

repin is easy, dont need diagram, you can tell which one is which bc on the harness, you will notice 1 color shows up on all the injectors pigtails....the others should all be different colors. You'll see that one wil go to injector #1, than will go to #2, than, #3, than #4, than loop back into the pigtail for the main harness....

If you were hitting fuel cut, it wouldn't have kept on going... it would have been like hitting a brick wall.

Does your AFR Lean out up top... or does it stay right where its commanded?

it stays where it needs to be....i figured more fuel would be a pretty good idea but at the same time don't want spend money where not neccessary!

i noticed also that after filling up i tried it again and it didn't do it....i tried multiple times to get it to do it and it wouldn't. it seems to only do it when im at 1/4 tank or lower

if it's leaning out after a certain rpms is indicative of running out of injector .. if it hiccups then is good.. then it's gonna be tune related or misfire

If you're on a stock fueling system... have fun with those 1000's. I highly suggest a Return System, or at least the BRFPS.

Like I said before... you aren't running out of injector. Its possible that your pump is dying, and that's why you only see the problem under 1/4 tank... but with your AFR staying constant like it is, and you able to keep going to higher RPM's, its hard to diagnose that for sure.

When injectors or a pump are running out of room, it has been my experience that they'll lean the hell out... and then you'll hit fuel cut at an earlier RPM. With my first turbo set-up on E85, I ran out of pump (on 80's). Commanded Lambda was .77, and the car would lean out to .92 before it would hit fuel cut (which is like hitting the limiter/a brick wall) at around 6500-6700.

This is what a misfire sounds like. Limiter is set at 7400 and the miss was at 6877 with a solid 11.4 afr.

79's will most certainly not flow enough for E on a 2.6.
    my 80's on a 2.8 runs nearly 95 percent by 7k
Also chris, return style or brfps is a great idea. I will be doing the same with the aeromotive 340.
    What 1k's did you buy?

    edit:
talk to infraredline he runs the 1ks
I port and polish lsj heads for a very fair price, pm me for details

ps i run tracks, race gas 320 wheel on a stock 2004 fuel pump. My new fuel system is way more elegant uses the same old stock pump as a lift pump. Lots of pressure for that....but i do that because I can and because the car wont pick up below half tanks on the race track, not because I have to. Internet is blessed with lots of tribal wisdom

I agree with all he says for sure, however 79s and even 80s. On the stock set up is insufficient. It may have enough fuel, but idc's are over 100 percent by 7k

I think some of the logging data is flawed. Certainly the tunes are. I ran to 7800 with 79's with Area tuning, no problem. stock pump. meh.

well either way i am pushing over 17.5 psi on the car so i would need more pressure from the brfps...i figured i might as well just do all of this and i should be done with the fueling part of the car. thanks for the info guys

also i have pmd elite and infaredline and haven't got a response...do you think mdub would tune me or does he not do over the internet tunes?
