    Default IAT2 display in dash

I have been tossing this idea around, was thinking of picking up a IAT sensor and wiring it to the ambient temp sensor wire so i can see IAT2 display on the dash, wont really use it for tuning, want to use it more for when i get tuned i can know what my IAT's will be as i do plan on running meth and want to see changes with out making tuning more complicated. I wont be running a high meth mix to affect a/f value, just enough to lower temps...prob a 30%mix...

So does anyone know what the voltage range is for a ambient temp sensor? is it 0-1v or 0-5v? Ive tried googling to see if anyone has tried this before but cannot seem to get the right keywords to bring things up, the works IAT2 and ambient temp bring up random things not related to what im looking for. I was probably gunna pick this up

and use the sensor and cut the wire off their harness to wire into the ambient temp...

yeah i know its for IAT1, but the reason i posted to more or less give a day of what im planning, want to take a AIT sensor, and place it post intercooler location. Than i want to take those wires and wire them to the 2 wires that are meant to go into a ambient temp sensor. after looking, i think it may not be as easy...depending on what the range for the ambient temp sensor the voltage from a different sensor may not work. So 1v for ambient temp sensor may mean 80* while 1v from a aftermarket unit might mean 30*....

may just get the PLX air temp gauge...really wanted to avoid using another gauge though...i wanted to limit gauges to only 2...now ill have three...boost, a/f, and IAT2

ps this is for the saab, not the balt, the balt is having another issue with ambient temp...the sensor was ripped off along with some of the pigtail, so i picked up another sensor and pigtail, wired it in, now the dash only read -22 degress all the time, does not change at all. dont know what is going on...the sensor works, the car i took it from worked fine, i have a 06 ls the donor car was a 07 lt

Interceptor would be great...if it was compadable with the Saab...i talked to them and they dont know if it will work. only other local with one i know sold it before i could test it on my car. Other generic OBD2 readers wont read IAT2 since its a manf specific PID.

just get another OAT sensor. that way you know it works. BUT........ its not really a good idea, the car buffers the OAT signal, and it wont show accurate temp readings in real time. it only instant updates if the temp goes down, it always buffers the results when the temp goes up.

I actually have a setup brand setup. new never. its a stand alone unit, you just need to tap the manifold for the sensor 1/8npt 90 shipped and its yours! I went the interceptor route instead.

Note* I no longer have the bezel
