Default could timing be the issue

well this is the second dyno to confirm that my car is only producing 173 horsepower. i have a 2.9 60s intake header dp and catback, plugs and i guess a junk tune. What else could be wrong im pretty frustrated that its making lead then stock right now

The tune would have more of an affect than anything...or you have an actual motor issue. Do a compression test on each cylinder.

Sounds like its running like poop now lol

If you had a compression drop in a cylinder, it would be like running 3 1/2 cylinders now. Who tuned your car?

the car runs smooth no hesitation or idle problems, slight break up at like 6500 and above but i figured that was the plugs. i was tuned by streetdreamz out.of west.Virginia

    lol well found your issue

Streetdreamz seems to leave a path of destruction...but really a dyno is a tuning tool

One dyno could one thing and another dyno say something completely different, but if it's in the same ball park twice...how are the other cars running on said dynos?

Either way it sounds like your tune is completely off.

How much boost are you showing?

No 'problems' but it breaks up above 6500?

How many miles are on the car? How old are your o2 sensors? How old are your plugs? What plugs are you running? What are they gapped at?

ngk 1 step colder gapped at .035, running 17 peak psi, 16.2 being avg. car just rolled 90k and is regularly maintained sensors are new when i installed the badmab a few weeks ago. the break up was noticeably cured when regapping the plugs but still seems evident on the dyno

.035 is a pretty big gap

    Timing, fueling/injectors

    After that, something major.

Are you getting any misfire codes? How much timing are you running?

p0420 is a duh, especially if you're catless/high flow cat

p0172 is your fuel trims are too rich

Sounds like your tune is effed, and if I had to go out on a limb I am going to say your injector tables are wrong.

I have it, but am LSJ tuning dumb.

If you were an LNF I'd be able to help you out.

Try shooting M-Dub a PM, he's in Raleigh NC

    Word of advice:

If you're getting tuned, or doing any tuning, buy HPTuners yourself even if you're not doing any tuning.

It makes situations like this a breeze to diagnose whether or not it's the tune via pulling the tune off the car and posting it say here or the HPTuners forum.

I'll be completely blunt about it too, even if I did know how to tune LSJs, I wouldn't have the time really to help you out anyways. I barely have enough time to take care of my own car half the time

    Live and learn.

I am going to go out on a limb and say you have over 500 bucks worth of mods done to your car

We've all gone through the trial and error and the best you can do is try to be as resourceful as possible

Trust me I've had my fair shares of woulda coulda shoulda.

Take it in stride man and be grateful for the things that didn't happen.

Do you still have your 42s?

yeah, i was gonna say just post your tune, and then i realized you don't have hpt

...in my experience though, tune usually can make or break a powerful car, my first tvs dyno was only 250hp/250tq(partially due to the noodle header and bad plugs not allowing for much timing) but other tvs locals were still getting about 300whp/260tq. compared to my stock dyno (215whp/185tq) i only gained 35whp mostly due to no timing(6* at the top...very bad high egt's too) but with the extra 8psi of boost and somewhat decent timing midrange i still gained 65tq

and only tuner i can think of nearer to you would be BYT who would be able to help
