Tial Q?

What spring are you guys running on turbo LSJs? Getting rid of my hks for hopefully better flow.

depends on your vacumm at idle. go on their website it will tell u what spring you need for the correct vacumm

i run the unpainted -10psi spring for -16 to -19inHg. although my car does idle at -21inHg it did not like the -11psi pink spring at all

yeah my car did not like that spring either.... bov wouldnt even open. i modified my spring to work.

Thanks I'll give the -10 a try. I'm sick of my hks always get turbo flutter.

hks is a pos if you ask me. people buy it mainly because of the sound. tials the way to go if you ask me. ive ran them on every single turbo car ive owned and they have YET to fail me.

HKS is what I put on the car when I first turbo swapped. I removed the sound insert though, so it should have blown off quietly. Never found out though... because the SOB never opened once. Swapped to the Tial a few days later.

I believe I have an unpainted spring in my garage, as well.

I run the 9psi spring in my Tial Q. Works great!

for some reason every tial vid i see on youtube, the car will have turbo flutter during low-mid boost shifting...only during WOT full boost shifts does it not have that pr-pr-pr-pr sound....thats part of why i didnt get one...that and a 50mm would be too big for my tiny td04

Its not turbo flutter... its the BOV chattering. It'll give 2 or 3 small blow offs.

about 25-30% throttle. no more than 7psi of boost

To make a correction... if you DO have compressor surge/chatter with a Tial... its because you have the wrong spring in it. Simple and cheap to change though.

Because the Q is of better design... that's why they rearranged the springs and assigned them new pressures.

I like my original tial over the tial q. Sounds like im one of the few. I just think it sounds a lot better. I tried my friends tial q and didnt like it at all. The hks sounds like a terrible sword fight.

I ran the tial q for a little while, worked, sounded great. NO flutter. Now run a tial QR recirculated, silent and awesome lol
