Default Best intake for my 2007 SS Supercharged?

Since I'm on a spending spree lately with tuition, I decided that I will treat myself and replace my broken factory airbox that is currently installed on my car. Questions that I have for you experts:

    1. What intake works best on the 2007? I've read horror stories of rubbing due to brake lines, PCMs, beer, and other things that get in the way.
    2. I live in the northeast, and drive through snow and puddles. I'd run a hydroshield if I went with an aftermarket intake, are these even any good?
and 3. Are the gains worth it over the factory box? I have the bottom cover on and am running an AEM dryflow that's bolted to the top tube of the stock box. I think it's 3"... but the box is broken from my accident and rubs around and rattles and pisses me off.

So cliffs: What aftermarket intake is best to go with on a 2007 SS Supercharged? Are the gains worth it, or should I just buy another stock airbox?

    Thanks fellas.

imho stock is best. the only 3 inchstainless intake tube I have seenthat fits in the fender well is the RAW and they are history, but that rubbed through thebrake line in the abs controller. the ott one protudes awful into the fender well and crashes hard into thebrake lines as well. just leave it alone at best, wrap the tubes in heat reflective insulation my.02cents

ZZPs is a 3 piece and has decent fitment

I don't know the gains, but the increase in airflow is clear when logging with Hptuners

I wish there was a way to keep the stock airbox but replace the piping. That restrictive bend in the stock tubing has to be killing the airflow.

Should I take the bottom lid off of the stock box or open up the top more or something? I put the bottom back on because when I went to check it one time the filter was wet, and I don't even drive through deep or standing water.

I just want more airflow dammit. haha

I was going to go with the K&N, but I am not sure about how well it will fit. I could always wrap the parts that rub in rubber...

Nice, I was wondering what that car used for an intake. Looks like I'll be keeping my stock airbox now. lmao

I have the Rebel cai, it rubbed through two of my brake lines which caused a huged headache, not sure if me bending the lines originally caused it, or actual rubbing...but I did feel some gains over stock, and the sound that they make is awesome. Fitment is pretty good if you use some good zip ties to make it not rub the fender.

that being said, air box mod or aem would be the way to go

i had the raw also...took me two days to install. tried to bend the brake line out of the way, broke it, got a new line + double flaring kit and made a custom line that i bent out of the way of the raw...the intake still rubbed on the PCM pretty hard though even with 2 x 1/8-1/4" pieces of rubber between the them...i sold it and got a ottp 3" hoping for better fitment(had it since september of 2010 and still havent installed it) so not sure how the fit will be or if i'll keep it even

i'm going to agree with John here.

stock intake setup + air box mod + k&n filter = best LSJ intake solution

The raw intake is AWESOME, ran it on my 07 lsj, and as long as your not a complete moron and have a brake line bender just bend the lines slightly down to fit the intake.

No Such Thing as a Fast Cobalt

    Wasn't this on a h62 w/ a stg2 pulley? G/cyl goes in the upward direction on a anything past a 2.9 pulley.
