Default I just want the door chimes to stop.

I have a 2010 HHR SS with the upgraded radio.

I do not intend on replacing the head unit just yet but I would like to kill the door chimes and turn signal noises. I hate them.

Does anyone have a clue how to kill it?

    http://chevyhhr.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1514
This guy says some dark green wire on one of the plugs in the number 5 socket.

IDK about that because the only dark green wire in the number 5 plug is on the passanger side plug and the door chimes only stoped when I unpluged the drivers side plug.

Anyone have a wiring guide or pinout?

Also how does one depin these tiny plugs as I would rather do that than cut anything.

    Any help is great thanks!

The door chime comes from the head unit from the speaker output wires. There are only 2 wires running from the head unit to the driver side front speaker.

If you disconnect the low speed data line the radio won't work. It won't receieve security data, and it won't even recieve a power on signal. Only way to truly "kill" it is disconnect LF speaker.

There's no way to turn off seatbelt chimes or turn signal noises.

your could splice the right front speaker wires to left front speaker, ande leave the right front disconnected You wont have any actual left front sound in terms of like "surround sound" but you will get left side sound from both

Did a bulletin search and found you can adjust the volume. However the only choises you get are either normal or loud. Also its only on specific option code radios for specific years. There may still be an actual GM reprogram to reduce chime volume. I've seen that before but without the actual car in question I couldn't verify. Only way I can figure to "turn it off" is an aftermarket head unit but thats not a sure thing either.

no add on that makes the car think that the door is not open ? like how about that sensor on the door. just jam it in so the car will not see that the door have been opend?

If you mod the doors so the chimes don't come on then the alarm and interior lights won't work. Only way to ditch it all is to use an aftermarket head unit, or not use the LF speaker output from the head unit.
