I think that's because you're used to American cars. Car styling has always been a good bit different in Europe, especially Britain..

I'm not sure I like the idea of them telling him to go with MAF only tuning. I didn't go that route and my car ran like ♠♠♠♠ MAF only. just my opinion.

MAF only is the proper way to go with our cars, really. We just don't have enough tables to properly utilize VE.

I understand that after a certain amount of flow the VE table runs out, but completely getting rid of it just never worked for me. Mine ends around 3500, but in daily driving MAF only made the car a dog until it got into the 3000 range. Did you have to get completely rid of it for your turbo setup? I would think it would still be able to run VE to around 3000 rpms?

I ran with VE to 3000rpm for a while... and ran without it (300rpm). After the first week or two of doing my own tuning, I always ran MAF only. Never had a problem. I ran an arse load of timing out of boost though... really helped with spool and to keep it spirited out of boost.

Well I guess this is the different cars thing then, I started working on the low end rpms of the VE table and then I got my friend to help me extrapolate the rest. I suck ass at math.

Matty: The LNF MAF doesn't like extra air flowing past it and not being tuned for it.
Me: I think dead horse is dead
Matty: Nope, just saw the legs twitch a bit, must beat it more. not sure EVERYONE on this forum understands it just yet.
