Default Help me with front end noise...

To start off my suspension is currently pedders springs hardcore rear bar powergrid endlinks lcabs and trailing bushings...

We went for a spirited drive in the canyons yesterday mulholland to be exact and had no problems car was great but was driving back to work today from lunch pulled up to stop sign and when i shifted into 2nd gear i heard a click clack kinda noise from the front end and thought hmm thats weird lol left work drove home didnt hear it but went to the store and on the way home driving into driveway i heard it again

Didnt think it was rear but tightened down my rear swaybar and lugsnuts and went for a lil drive and when shifting into 2nd i heard it again hmm went through some tough roads didnt hear it went through driveway area where the water runs and heard it again

Pulled into driveway and heard it again and thought maybe its steering so i turned all the way to left then all the way to the right and heard a click wtf lol looked under the front and everything seems to be fine and cant see anything loose or broken so any ideas?

Hard to diagnose these things online, but I'm with John. Check the lugnuts if it's a pop sound. Doubt it is a CV, since you have an LNF. We have uber beefy axles.

At 15-16 seconds, you can see the whole wheel shifting forward and backward in the wheelwell. These are VERY bad CAB's in this video. As the clicking gets worse (the tolerances of the TCAB get looser), it'll eventually break the captive nuts loose. Figure out ASAP if this is the problem and get it fixed... this is NOT one you want to just drive around on and deal with until you are able to fix it.

Have you dropped the cradle recently?

I don't understand the comment about breaking the captive nuts loose. The nut isn't hard welded in place. There are metal plates that prevent it from spinning too much. If you go feel the nut while the big control arm bolt is out, yes, it will feel like it's broken loose, but that's normal. That's why the bolt is shaped with a taper, it's to start the threads properly.

Even if the bushing is toast, I'd be surprised if you could really damage the nut, as long as the bolt is tight.

They're pressed in, iirc. Either way... mine have broken loose, as well as a few other people's. The loose tolerances of the TCAB allow it to sort of slap, or shock, the bolt though when forward or backward force is applied to the drive wheels (Accelerating/Braking), which is why I believe mine broke loose. My only hope is that after breaking loose, the bolt wasn't allowed enough room to dance around and destroy the metal in that area (ie: what I'll be welding the nuts back to). Mine were properly torqued - checked twice with a torque wrench - but they were also driven on with bad CAB's for a loooooong time, as the supplier's stock ran out, and therefore John's ran out. The person I lined up replacement stock LCA's from never followed through. No big deal, its in the past... just something I'll have to deal with soon when I try to drop my motor.

When John Powell slid under my car to help me change them in my garage the day before we traveled to TOTD... I'm pretty sure his words were "Your captive nuts are broken loose". So if you are saying "they can't break loose", take it up with him.

They have to remove the rear cradle bolts to install those...

Who installed, what did they torque the bolts to, and have you checked their torque.

I'm betting they didn't torque them all the way properly, and you now have the same problem I have - loose captive nuts.

mine makes a similar pop sound when turning at slow speeds. just replaced swaybar endlinks, strut mounts, rear cabs, have newer beefier axles, steering rack spacers, still makes it. i dont know what it is but ive run out of potential parts to replace lol
