That sucks, man. This economy has got to turn around or we're ALL in trouble. Don't give up on this build. It's fvckin' sweet.

yea please dont be stoppin lol i look forward to this build thread
until i wins the lottery. i stays stock for now
Not stopping LOL...
Got the intercooler installed and the plumbing run today.
I'm desperate to find a fusebox from a lnf cobalt! Until I get that I can't really go much further...
Update for anyone still interested...
Haven't had more than a few hours to spend on my project but I did find a matching set of computers out of one car!
I'm currently still stuck on a communication issue (U2105) where the BCM isn't able to communicate with the ECM.
Having checked power and ground already I can rule that out. The engine will run for a brief moment when jumped
My issue is now just figuring out if there is a fault in the wiring harness I purchased, or if the bus is not being continued through a missing module...
It's nearly impossible for me to find in-depth wiring info for the bus lines, I've looked into the service manual, mitchells and alldata but they aren't much help.
As far as the rest of the car goes,I do have a rear disc and hub conversion I'll being installing once I get the car running.
Will be rolling on 18"s from an SS/SC I got for cheap, I did however need spacer rings to get clear of the brembo's...
bcm dont need to match the pcm to talkie talkie?
For those still interested? Who wouldn't be interested in this!? Lol

U2105 is the BCM has no communication with the ECM. My best guess is you have a power or ground issue on the module, a bad wakeup circuit or youre missing a module.....If you dont have SS/TC steering column and ABS modules and harness installed then the ECM isnt on the same circuits as the BCM![]()

^^^^ thats what the man said. Back a few million posts we pointed out that it all intercommunicates, and you said you were going to get all the parts you needed. so what Maven has pointed out, you need to go get , along with all the wiring harness which includes the front light, front engine and main body harness. Sounds like you have made good progress but the road is long.
Damn snow!!!
I've got all of the modules except for the onstar coms, sound amp and head unit if that counts.
As far as I could tell through the mitchells diagrams and such, the ECU isn't reliant on those..
I've gone over grounds and power already. When I hook the modis up the only modules I can communicate with are body side. such as:
Power steering, BCM, Airbag and IPC.
Many thanks for the help, it is really appreciated!
If the car you got all the modules and wiring from had onstar and you arent using the OnStar module then thats the problem, same goes for if the SS had the RPD, if it had RPD you either need the RPD or you need to modify the harness. You cant just remove high priority modules, the car wont work.

I'll have to look and see if I've got the rdp harness or not...
Any idea what the connector to the rdp looks like?
I've got a red and black connector that is free up by driver side pillar, is that for it?
If that's the case throughout the car, simply jumping the connector to complete the loop in a twisted pair should do the trick I'd think...
Thanks a lot Maven, I'm going to check out what I've got as far as options on my harness.
I guess I have been stuck on thinking it was in issue under the hood.
Hey Nodrama, send Vince at Trifecta an email and let he know where you are at. He can turn off some functions that would keep the engine from running. He would need the VIN of the car the ECM came out of and the serial # of the ECM.
Thanks, Chuck
