    Default 225/40?

So I got a set of lsj front brakes, and a set if wheels, we thought they were tbs lsj 18's till they didn't clear brembos with all the spacers and stuff from the CED kit. Turns out they are malibu ss rims. My question is, if I do the 5 lug swap will 225/40 18's fit? According to a tire calculator 225/ 35 is almost exact match for the stock 195/60 15's but a 35 is just to low of a profile for me. Anybody know if the 225/40 will clear everything?

    Rofl! I totally missed that!!

If they are, they still don't clear brembo's. I think the differance is the casting, I belive the lsj wheels are smooth on the inside of the spokes and these arn't. When we bolted the wheel on it wouldn't turn, inside of the wheel was wedged against the caliper.

Did you use a 5mm spacer cause that's what I've read is needed to clear the brembos

Yeah be had the spacer in there but because of the casting of the wheels it still didn't clear.

The tire is ballooning with a 7.5 inch rim. 235s really should be mounted on an 8 inch rim

steddy is right so is TTMR. Putting a tire too wide on too narrow a rim is not good. Car will "hunt" down a straight level road, will not turn in well on corners, and the tires will not wear well.

I ran 235/40 Nitto NT01 on my stock TC wheels before I got 2 sets of PF01. On the other set, I have a stretched set of stock Conti 2. Can hardly notice a difference. I was kind of disappointed, to tell the truth. The tires wear about the same. Biggest issue, in terms of tire wear, for me is not enough camber on track, and too much on the street. Oh the pains of FWD.

235 on the 7.5" is fine for screwing around on the street, especially if you're running stock camber and zero toe. You shouldn't eat the tire too quickly. It's a pretty mild upsize. It's not like we're talking about autox stock class tire sizing here, where folks squeeze 275 Hoosiers on a 6" wheel
