I love my car. The look on the other drivers face while I spin 2nd gear past them = priceless.

Maybe if this was a strictly track only car, with the suspension + tires to go along with it... but it's not

You made a general statement that the SS/TC was not a fun car to drive... not that a/your GMS1 SS/TC wasn't a fun car to drive.

Still it cost me $60 MAX and Total for a full day of lapping + driving to the track and back

at lunch time the vette guys have already emptied there tank....and putting in a nice $100 for gas... then I assume another 100 before leaving for the drive home...

No thanks don't feel like spending $200 in gas per track day.... that would cost me $1000+ in just gas for a few months in the summer.... F- that

    So lets see................

porsche - n/a = rwd, turbo - awd..... GT2 RS is turbo and RWD. True drivers/racecar
corvette = rwd = n/a or supercharged <- linear power.....people would freak out if GM made it turbo.
ferrari = rwd n/a 288GTO, 288GTO Evo, F40 turbo, Ferraris highest powered cars at their time.....all turbo
lotus = rwd n/a or supercharged, Probably Lotus's longest made car, the Esprit was tubocharged from 1980-2004, and the new one is scheduled to be as well.
nissan gtr - turbo awd, Kinda wrong, the new GTR is AWD, but all the Skylines built in the R30-R33 generations were available RWD
    lexus lfa - rwd na....um...okay.
audi r8 - turbo awd Made by a company who is known for AWD/its more luxury car than drivers car....
subaru sti - tubo awd Um...see above, and its a .rally car
mist evo - turbo awd Again....rally car.

Many of the fastest racecars have been turbo'd. F1, Indy, CanAm, Rally, FIA Sports Car, Prototypes, etc.........
I need to engage in homicidal activity on a massive scale......

i was talking about new cars.. forgot about the gt2rs... but I think that car was more about look at us ferrari and lambo we can have a high hp power car too

and for the skyline stuff... your right.. but only on the gts models... not the gtr

and the only reason .. cars above have been turbo'd is due to emissions... nothing is wrong with that.... but that doesn't prove a turbo is better

if you want to talk about cars in our price range...

speed3 turbo = bad torque steer, only has 20ftlbs more than a stock ss/tc
gti = great car, has 60 ftlb's less than an ss/tc
ss/tc = torque steer is okay, gms1.... bad

oops also forgot to add in dodge viper rwd = na
cheaper cars miata = rwd/na.... except for the turbo mazdaspeed model ... but that only has 166ftlbs of torque
which I think is the most tracked car ^^^ out of any above...

Turbo, RWD, Diesel, 20 wins in 30 races.

even Audi's R10, R15, and R18 le mans prototypes are RWD, and turbocharged diesels. with the R18 being a 3.7L V6.

john why do you drive a supercharged car instead of a turbo?

    Am I missing something?
yes.Money. Surprising from a guy like you that you forget that. The acquistion cost of the redline for me was zero in real money.Cost of maintenence/evelopment/tracking has been high but nowhere near the cost of buying a TC or anything else. And I like it. And its trouble free. Goes good. Seats are excellent.

Folks dont copy it. hehe and i use it for constant development of the parts I make. The only other vendor who does anything remotely like that is ZZP and they are engine/drag race fanatics.

The other stuff? Porsche GT3 is VERY difficult to drive REALLY qwik. The latest ones even more so. Thats why so many are wrecked by rich guys needing driver mod. It takes a Long, Bergmeister etc who have millions of track miles to wheel these suckers to win.

Audi in this list? Puff cars, so much mass ahead of the front axle its nuts. The MB AMG SLS is interesting I have driven that on track. The Ferrari stradale/400 etc are brilliant but upset the Ferrari on a speed bump apex at speed you loose downforce and it spins qwiker than you can say "O".

the Yapanese cars? Rally cars or in rwd drifters. Drifting is interesting exercise. But thats all it is.

and stop with the torque steer Shadowbane. If the front axle is live it jumps around, Thats life with FWD. All the engineers in all the world delude themselves in trying to "fix" torque steer in FWD. They love talking about theories: equal length drive shafts, different material thickness drive shafts, etc etc. All crap. The car makers make cars with fwd coz its cheap to build. AND
they are safe. AND the engine over the drive wheels assists traction
AND they understeer. Folks who cant drive need that.

99% of the world cant drive properly. Heck over 50% of the folks on nub cant drive worth crap.

anyway. Carry on. I got stuff to work on and money left over this month coz i aint got no car payment lol

And on the main topic, I will get excited about after i see the MSRP

    RWD cars run a premium

G8 GXP's are STILL selling at new MSRP...with 40k on the clock and 2 years old.

Even used, I see these cars being expensive.
