transmission noise
ok.. so i just noticed this today. it seems in 3rd gear my transmission has a whine to it.. it seems this shouldn't be a good thing lol
2nd nothing 4th nothing..1st.. well idk about first it goes through it too quick lol

spec stg 3 clutch
bnr2871 on 10-11 psi
catless dp
cti 3" catback
custom turbo intake/fmic/ piping setup
ttr motor mount..
solid trany mounts

It will stop making that noise once your tranny finally goes POP.
TVS+2.5+custom air/air=broke ass transmision.
I had that noise. Ended up blowing 5th gear. And my LSD working when it wanted to.

solid non rotated trans mounts transfer a lot of noise, also vibration, and power hop remains. good luck

Maybe just some trans fluid?
My transmission does this sometimes too, but the car seems to drive fine. It's more noticeable when the car is in first or second. I don't think I've ever heard it in third.

i posted about this on the other forum. Before i installed my lsd i would never hear a noise, but with the lsd trans and ive confirmed this in another balt, while under decel, and still in gear would hear a slight winding noise while coasting to a stop. i upgraded to the lnf fluid when i changed mine and it went away. i know you have an ion prolly non lsd

yea i might be putting in some redline tranny fluid just to be safe..
i had new fluid put in last year when i did the clutch.. but better be safe then sorry

I changed two transmissions chasing a washing noise on the over run. I thought it was the transmission.

he said" doofus happens all the time with Exedy clutches" changed to GMPP went away. Now I hear it these days just a little not obtrusive like before. 30 k miles into the GMPP
its the clutch prolly the springs rattling in the disc I guess/

I would not use anything other than LNF GM fluid. I would not use Redline fluid at all.
BOT castrol or silkolene fluid to the same GL4 spec as the LNF , sure.
I only get the whine in first with the clutch in.
stay out of first.
good to know.. i'll keep that in mind.. i've had my clutch in for a probably about 20k now .. and i'll probably thrown in some lnf fluid just to be safe you're always a huge help john..
