Stereotyping cars based on the brand name is kind of childish and dumb.

Not stereotyping IMHO...Buick built and marketed cars specifically for the 50+ demographic for a LOOONNNG time. Piorities were comfort and a quiet, smooth ride. Luxury amenities and all of the sound deadening materials they put in those cars are heavy.

Sure, they have made an effort to rebrand themselves a bit but now I'd say they are going for the 40+ crowd who desire some "sportiness" but will not sacrifice the same things that have been part of the Buick brand as stated above. Unless they change their price point significantly AND bring over a true Euro-spec car, they will continue to struggle selling cars to 25-40 yr olds.

^^^^^ that's exactly what I was getting at.....since the grand national was layed to rest they haven't been a "sporty" brand.

Just remember that GM already has an entry level brand, Chevy. So buicks are going to be as cheap as we may like. Also they already have a luxury brand, Cadillac. So they won't be over the top expensive or super luxurious, Buick is the middle ground. Expect the middle.

It will also be interesting to see if GM maintains shared platform branding i.e. Monte Carlo = Grand Prix = Intrigue = Regal which would mean not just a Buick version....

Expect cadillac to do very little sharing at all, and what they do will be very heavily modified from the other models. Chevy and Buick will share, but again, you wont be able to tell. First example of the newest round of platform sharing... Verano and Cruze. Anyone who says they can tell they are same car by looking is lying.
