Well yes, to an extent lol. If a company was real bad then I would second guess.
danew can chime in and tell you whats up with the bates block. He had the same issue. Bates specs on the sleeve height was not correct. And the machinist that installed danews sleeves even questioned him as to the specs being right. Bates assured danew to go with what he said and the machinist against his own judgement listened to the customer. with the sleeves being installed above deck height yalls head ended up not sealing correctly, and coolant was getting into the oil. you are not the only one that had this issue and i cant believe bates didnt address the situation with you guys. all i can say is unfortunately live and learn

Their parts are proven, fit & finish can't be beat, and I've had the best customer service from them. Though I'll admit I am local once again now.
Part of the problem is a lot of their customer base is as arrogant as them. I find it funny to claim they're arrogant and what they say goes, when this takes place here on this forum daily and nobody would question that gospel one bit. I especially like all the wars that became of their clutch claims on CSS.
I am a ZZP "fanboy", they put the time into these cars daily, and their in-house R&D and product offering speaks such.
So any one have a clue what bearings(main and rod) zzp is using on these high hp builds?
Pretty sure they use stock stuff.
I need to engage in homicidal activity on a massive scale......

I was thinking that. Reason I ask because my rebuild is bieng held up by waiting on clevite. Thinking of saying f-it and just go stock and get my car home.
Dude stock all the way, was seeing sams 3k bearings vs my 60k bearings not enough. ♠♠♠♠ ecotec clevites.
No Such Thing as a Fast Cobalt
we arent waiting for clevites....different bearing. the whole reason we are waiting is because we dont want to use clevite.

I've always used stock bearings, but what do I know. I'm just an L61 guy.
I can only say that oem works good, since thats all I have used.

PM/Call/EMail me for any of your parts needs
yeah they are going to be....
is this a werkes thread? I hope not. For my money , bearings need to be 100% on size ( OEM) in 100% on size rods (OEM) and never touch the on size (OEM) journal (oil in motor)
hmmm first i have heard of this one. i have been saving money in order to send my block, which is apart in the garage, out to darton for sleeves
this would be cheaper and i could take it direct to the machine shop in order to assemble.
gm used stock main bearings in their race engines and a coated clevite on the rods but for what we are doing you cant beat stock bearings for the performance and price
