the HSD folks make Stance as a branded label shock for the stance folks.. the differences are: egg shaped front coil spring on the stance fronts. alloy cartridge housing on the stance, steel on hsd.

damping the same. HSD survive winter better than Stance, both suffer greatly from corrosion damage.

lowering is acheived by varying the height of the coil over unit itself; this is done by shortening or lengthening the shock by screwing the lower shock bracket in or out/ If you reduce the length enough and you will have no travel and the car will ride like crap. To maintain any sort of ride you MUST preload the spring as much as possible to raise the shaft in the body (assuming you have shortened the shock all the way because you are a mad fool) ( ( " I took the locking ring out so I can slam it more ")) . The adjustment range is about 15 -16 clicks but be it stance or HSD they will suggest the "sweet spot " is 8 and that is because thats the damping + or - is just over or under damped.

If you lower the car to more than 24 .5 at the front measured from ground to fender lip through the axle centerline, the tires will rub and you will:
front:hit the plastic inner liner and wreck it
hit a 3 inch inlet tube if an SC and rip it out of the mounting rubber block if it has one
hit the top if the inner fender structure
    rear:
    hit the plastic inner liner
hit the fender return. ( cuts tire)

    other than that its fine.

I completely understand. Im just going more for aggressive fitment and not "on the floor I took all of my lockrings and my perches out" kind of crappy ride. haha Just a decent looking low DD.

There's no such thing as a good riding low Cobalt

I mean do your thing, I get that, but why not get something that has the things out on the market to do it? Just realize that any coils you get, you're going to need to rebuild probably annually if not more depending on the roads you travel

Theres no such thing as a good riding slammed car period. lol I like to be different and not blend in with the crowd. If i did I'd buy a civic or someting like that, I do agree that it'll probably ride terribly regaurdless of what I do but, ♠♠♠♠ happens.
