    Default Silverado's

Thinking of trading my 07 Silverado extended cab in for a 2011 Silverado crew cab. They got some pretty nice rebates on the left over 2011's which I'm hoping will drive the price down on some gently used 2011's that they have on the lot.

Going to look at a few tonight.....

Hope you do it man. I bought my 07 ram in Nov, and if GMC had the rebates back then they do now I would probably be driving a 2011 sierra. The ones I looked at I loved. You should be able to get a little to no mileage for a good price. They hold value decently well too.

I can get a new 2011 crew cab for a little over 29 with rebates or a used one with 13k for 27. Kind of makes me want the new one.

I have a bit of an issue with Chevy full trucks.

    They have IFS.

Real Trucks have a solid front axle.

IMO the best truck ever would be a Ford f250 with the 350 shock shackles (only difference between an f250 and a 350 or so I am told) With a cummins swap.

Picked up a 2011 silverado lt crew cab, love it. Can't go wrong with the rebates was like 36k out the door for one with a ♠♠♠♠load of options for towing and offroad.

Nice chevy trucks are also the only ones with a true mechanical locking rear diff. Seen a demo on it back in may vs ford and dodge was pretty interesting.

I like my Chevy, I'd probably never go with Ford or Dodge because of my own opinions. I don't need to have a crew cab right now, but, if the price is right you never know. I want to start having a family next summer so I'd rather start preparing now.

Chevy trucks ftw. I love my 07 Tahoe. The GMT-900 platform is the strongest on the market for 1/2 ton trucks right now. I saw a video one time where the flex test was done to the Silverado, F150, and Ram 1500. The Chevy went the furthest and was able to still open and close doors with ask the panels lining up. The F150 frame broke when put to the same limit, before they tried opening doors. The Dodge frame never stood a chance.

Although they are mechanical, they are weak as ♠♠♠♠.
Toyota had it straight with the factory E-locker in their TRD trucks.
I love my 04 1500 ex-cab, but with the way those gen chev/gmc rusted to hell it is enough to make me not buy another.
FWIW all the stealerships around my place are also 0% for 72 months on remaining 2011's.

Love my burban (same everything as a silverado minus body) thing is a beast. Doing a new block after 180xxxmi, but I didnt NEED to. Blew a head gasket, but at this point its not gonna hurt. Besides extra block for 383stroker conversion down tge line.

    Ugh quote fail.

The test I witnessed was on 2011 models and they said it was a new design to their rear diff. They also did the frame demo where though drove on an uneven surface and had us try to open the wheel doors. Only the silverado could.

I wasn't aware of the new diff design.^ Worse comes to worse pick up a truetrac like I am in serious need of. When mine trys to engage it sounds like a can of marbles/ as with every other one I have seen, just too light duty they were.

I drove a 2012 Ram Hemi tonight, wasn't impressed with the interior. We'll see what they come up with at Chevy on Monday.

On the lower models it's pretty cheap looking, but on the higher end Rams they're kind of nice. Same goes for GM trucks too

    Buy a Raptor instead

I wouldn't buy a Raptor, seen a lot of frame issues with them. I'm sold on the Silverado, just need to find one that I like.
