    Default phase 5 suspension

    Hey

So I have an in to purchase a coilover setupp from the phase 5 cobalt. Problem is I don't really know anything about the car other than gm mafe them for drag racing. Apparently it is currently setup for a road course.

Do amyone know anything about this suspension setup?

    Thanks

anything I can find on this Phase 5 race programn shows a coil over strut with no front bar pickup, mounted to G6 knuckles. I am guessing if it came off that 7 year old drag race program it was good for what it was then, useless for road racing. Unless its Ohlins or Koni, not worth waking up to think about .

then its not phase 5. who is he? if its a koni grand am set up its ex- gbm and it could be very good. it would help to get the whole story and check the history. Phase 5 is 100% different worlds apart from a Grand Am cobalt set up, which we pioneered with a ground control existing vdub top 4 bolt camber plate adapted to the cobalt tower

I don't think the guy selling really knows the whole story on them. He lives here in NS. They were supposed ti be on his twin charged cobalt

The Koni Yellows are great shocks, no doubt about it... and the Ground Control Coil Overs are great too. I know a lot of racers that use them. They use Eibach racing springs, and if you want to step up the spring rate or lower it, its as simple as ordering a new spring.

    I imagine it's a pretty good set-up. I don't know of anyone that's used GC's on a Cobalt though.

There's nothing special about it though. Its actually what Ground Control sells as a complete kit.

    http://www.ground-control-store.com/products/index.php

They don't list a set-up specific for the Cobalt though... so that's the only thing, either someone else has already done the ground work and figured out what works... or they're trying to rip you off on parts that they thought they could get to work. Hard to say. Its a High Risk, High Reward situation, imo.

Interesting. I considered that/this route right before the Pedders hit the market. I bet they still have the info them then. Prefer Bilstein's over Koni's though.
