    Default Chevy RPO codes

So I have a question on my 2011 Silverado's RPO's. I bought it with the "all star" package which comes with AP8 (remote start capable). Well, I had the remote start installed (factory FOB's, PN 20868672, with reprogramming the ECM/BCM) which should have changed the RPO to AP3 (remote start installed).

What I want to know is can I order the advanced 2 way remote (PN 19171129) and have it work with my truck. The parts/service guys here are scratching their heads. To me it seems obvious, but I don't want to

    19171129 2-way Advanced Remote Start
Technology and a convenient display screen shows the vehicles current status (locked or remote-start engaged, for instance) and critical vehicle data, including tire air pressure, fuel level, odometer and theft alarm status. This fob offers greater operating range then the factory keyless entry system, and can control a second, ARSS-equipped vehicle.
*2-Way Advanced Remote Start not for use on Crew and Extended Cab models with Manual Transmission (TZ0) and RR Sliding Window (A48) or Regular Cab models with Manual Transmission (TZ0) and RR Window Defog (C49). For Use on Vehicles with Remote Keyless Entry and Engine Start (AP3, BTV). (w/ RPO Code AP3, BTV, TB4, w/o RPO Code TZ0, A48, C49) Remote start package only includes one remote key fob.

    Thoughts?

Yes. We have to replace the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver, call GM with a provided code and install a special program into your RCDLR, and BCM.

So I would have to order additional parts besides the key fob PN#19171129?

yeah, you can't just buy the fob. You have to get the kit, unless they changed it for 2011 trucks. I know earlier trucks and cars require the whole kit.

So there is an additional kit for the advanced remotes versus what I have now with my remote start fob? My truck is already equipped with the remote start option. So the RCDLR is different because of all the stuff the advanced remote can control/read? And the RCDLR is located in the truck? I was getting confused that it was just another acronym for the key fob.

Indeed you need a kit. Comes with 2 fobs, RCDLR, and a programming code.

    RCDLR is:
    Object Number: 1803361

Ahh ok. They got that for the regular remote start fobs I had put on and programmed last week. Guess I need to find a part number for the advanced kit.

I have the advanced 2-way remote setup on my 07 Tahoe. I absolutely love it and wish GM offered it for every car they make. Yes, you need to buy the kit. It comes with a receiver for the truck, as well as an antenna. You can see the antenna at the bottom of the rear side glass on the rear most left window when you are inside my truck. I absolutely love this setup and will be adding the shock and inclination sensors shortly. A good source to get this stuff at (and I hope the mods understand and won't be pissed about this) is a company called OEM Parts Direct Inc. www.oempartsdirectinc.com. He is a vendor at www.tahoeyukonforum.com. His screen name is SuperchargedSS on that forum. The best way to get a hold of him is in his sig on TYF. Be sure to give him your vin when you ask about, and order, your kit. This will allow him to quote you the correct part number for the kit and the correct price. Is prices are very good too. Think of GMPD prices without the shipping cost. Btw, he currently has a deal going on where you buy the shock and inclination sensors for $205 together and he'll reduce the price for the 2-way remote setup to $135. Those prices include shipping. If he asks who told you about him please give a shout out for me. I use the same screen name on TYF.

Well the remote itself I can get for $105, I'm just not sure of the other parts and part numbers I'll need to make it work.

That's why you need the kit. It also comes with the receiver and a piece of paper that has a code for the installer to use when reprogramming the computer. I don't know the part numbers to that stuff either.

Was told today that 2010 was the last model year that was available to do the advanced remotes. Apparently it's not a hot seller and it's being discontinued.

Any of you guys that work for the dealers want to double check this for me?

Did you contact the guy I told you about? See what he has to say. He has a direct line to GM Accessories people.

I haven't contacted him yet, my dealer contacted their GM Accessories person who told them it couldn't be done. Next step is to contact him tonight.

GM Accessories website says it's 17802087
