Default 2.4 Auto Trans Flush (2006)

Is there a how to somewhere? I searched, and found the amount of fluid we should put in and what kind.. but not much besides that.

Anyone want to help out a n00b? Thanks!

You need special equipment. Have to go to the dealer or jiffy lube type place.

What he said. Tht or you can drop the pan, but that only drains less than half the fluid. Flush requires machinery

Maven- my fiancee (redssna) pm-ed you last night- this is the car he's currently working on.

so i guess flush is the wrong term to use-- he dropped the pan to make sure i didn't kill the tranny. but we wanted to change the fluid anyway since it was time. Is there a specific technique to putting the fluid back in? or making sure we did this right?

I know you have to have the car up and level. and there is the upper plug which is the fill to point. i'm changing out the filter while i'm there. if it doesn't change all of the fluid i guess it is what it is. i was more concerned that with the line leaking the transmission could be running to low on fluid. plus it was time to change it. i'd say 6+ quarts drained out when I removed the pan. I have the new lines, ordered the fittings that go into the cooler, and i just grabbed a gasket and fluid from the dealer since i was already there. I'll be the first to admit the autos aren't my thing. This is the first i've torn into one. Manuals are so much easier...

You fill it through the top, and with the car running in park and warmed up you remove the 11mm plug on passenger side near the axle, keep putting fluid in till it comes out that hole. then put the plug back in with car running
