Default Said goodbye to the Cobalt yesterday...

I've been going back an forth for a while now as far as keeping my cobalt and continuing to dump money into it or looking for something new. I knew I wanted boost and had pieced together most of a supercharger setup. I was looking at ordering Brembos. The car had 101k on it. It was in need of some body work and paint along with some other things that were starting to become questionable. So yesterday I said goodbye to the Cobalt. It was a blast while I had it and I learned a ton through working on it.

I would have to say I'm pretty excited to get to work on the new ride though.

It was a one owner car and whoever had it took fantastic care of it.

The thing is a blast to drive and I really couldn't be happier about it. Sorry for the crappy pic. It was freezing out and I was using my phone. There will be many more to come. As far as mods go I have a brand new set of the black Enkei PF01's that I had got for Christmas for the Cobalt. So those will be making it on there come spring time. I ordered shifter base bushings since that seems to be the popular choice on these and I miss the feel of my short shifter. I took the Pedders off my Cobalt before I traded it so those will be going on. Otherwise it'll probably be time to start looking at the power upgrades.

Well the Pedders springs are actually HHR springs

Look on the build sticker in the trunk area, look for G85...I am pretty sure there are no non-G85 2010 LNF'd anything. Maven would probably know more.

The shifter on the LNF HHRs/Cobalts is a shorter throw than the LSJ cars...and short of the B&M(which is kinda hard to find) nothing is as good as stock. The base bushings make a night/day difference.

    Ask me how I know

Powerwise, catless downpipe, a hotside charge pipe and a K&N drop in with a nice tune from someone who knows what they're doing with HPTuners will be all you need.

    YOU DON'T NEED:

    an intake
    the Forge BPV
    catback

I remember when I went from my LE5 to LNF...IMO you went the right way with getting the already boosted rather than boosting yourself.

The RPD placement really is nice. Fits well and doesn't block any part of your view. That's interesting about the springs. Like Pedders and the HHR springs are literally identical and i should just sell them for extra cash for go fast parts? Steddy i actually read one of your posts saying the bushing were what really made the difference which makes sense. So those are on their way. I've heard it doesn't take much in the way of mods to really wake these up. And I agree starting with something boosted is considerably easier. On the plus side i have HP Tuners so I can remote tune with someone. Kinda opens up my options.

Get a catless dp and put it on and I am sure we'd be more than willing to help you tune it

That's really all you need BEFORE you start tuning...and as for the springs, I was just flexing the brain muscle keep em and put em on...the whole issue that everyone wishes they were lower problem is cured on an HHR

    Sits pretty.

What Steve was saying is that the Pedders were originally made/designed on the HHR. I freaking love them on my wagon! Congrats on the upgrade.

Congratulations on the upgrade! Almost wish I had gotten one, I was just too familiar with my old balt to change chassis.

you dont need a catback but it doesnt hurt to get one IF you go big turbo. if you stay stock turbo theres really no reason.

It's a nice change of pace. As far as being familiar that half of my decision. If you can work on a cobalt you can work on the hhr. I drove around and looked a few places for the drop in air filter. Nobody carry's them that I've found local yet. Gotta try napa tomorrow. Or ill find someplace to order it online. I appreciate the help from everyone. As far as the pedders I was gonna say I swear I saw them on an hhr and it looked fantastic. Makes sense now. Gimme a week or two and ill get some more parts ordered for it. I'm looking forward to moding it. I'd be willing to bet it'll surprise a few people this summer.

The air filter is a cone design, not a drop-in. Thought I'd let ya know.

It has the lsd. I believe the 2010s that came with brembos also came with a lsd. Nice upgrade for sure. I love my wagon.

What are people's opinions on cutout with catted downpipe vs catless downpipe?
