Rob don't know if your talking bout my daughter but she isn't the mom. But she is legal. Lol

And yea I know thirds thirds thirds. Lol.

I'll have to try aperture mode more.

Also I want a new lense. Maybe birthday or tax return.

The t2i is pretty good. I consider it above entry level at entry level price. I sagged some filters for it and I'm going to try and find a couple lenses. But honestly I'm still below the cameras capabilities. Idk if I'll outgrow it anytime soon.

Recommendations on lense? You see the kind of photography I do so what do you guys recommend.

the "rule" of thirds can definitely be broken but it's one of those things you have to learn how to do it before you can go outside it

What about canons ef 50mm f/1.8 II lense its cheap and seems to be good. And at the price its at i could probably get a wide angle.

Couple of quick things. Camera shows these shot were taken at and aperture of f/14 I'm guessing that is why the depth is off. :/

The higher the F-stop... the more depth you'll have. More will be in focus.

The lower F-stop brings the focus (and all the attention) on the subject only. Everything else will be fuzzy, etc. Like this one... I focused on the Brass Fitting, nothing else is really in focus.

f/14 will give you tons of depth of field, but also a slow shutter speed and maybe diffraction problems. High megapixels with a smaller than aps-c sensor in the canon makes it prone to diffraction, so you should probably avoid f/14 and higher. But most lens will also have more resolution at averages aperture, and won't be the sharpest at the largest aperture.

But sometimes you also want to have more things in focus, this is were you use a high f-stop. The above was taken at iso 200, f/10, 1/15 shutter speed (oops, but the pentax in body stabilization saved me there). If only she could have kept here arms in a normal position, lol. Also too much saturation and contrast imo in this photobucket version of my picture...

Right im thinking for my pics I really needed to be at a much lower aperture.
