Thread: My modified double LED tails

  1. #1

Default My modified double LED tails

I customized these aftermarket tail lights so that the inside lights have the same red LED ring as the outer ones, and installed a white LED backup light as well. Then I wired them so they behave exactly as the outer lights (running lights, brake lights and blinkers).

    BEFORE:

    AFTER:

    LIGHTS OFF:

    RUNNING LIGHTS:

    BRAKE LIGHTS:

    BRAKE & BACKUP LIGHTS:

They're pretty bright. Remember these pics were taken in broad daylight.

Looks good. I have my rear lights apart now. I ordered the LED rings to go inside them, except one set some in the wrong size. Any chance you would share your wiring? I have something drawn up, but it would be nice to compare to someone who has them running.

This was made by a local guy. He is a very DIY kinda dude. Knows all about this. I am actually surprised he didn't go all out on his stereo and everything too. O well. 10min vid. Should give you a good startingpoint.

LOL the 3rd brake light is fine, I actually used the hazards to show what the brake lights looked like. That way I could get out of the car to take the pic
