    Default Quieting down

I have zzp's LTH combo and a megan exhaust. The megan even with a silencer in (which I hate BTW) is still loud enough to attract attention from our friends in blue. So my question is, what should I do to quiet this down? I'm not familiar with anything really as far as mufflers go except stock and the megan..lol. I've looked on YT at a bunch of exhaust videos and I have come to the conclusion that exhaust videos on YT are ♠♠♠♠ for the most part.

Qwik would say Corsa for sound and perf, how loud do you want it?
ZZP makes a nice catback too
    You are catless I assume?

Megan is one of the loudest exhausts out there.

Try running something that's not megan

I know for a fact that the Hahn with the ZZP LTH and catted dp is not loud at all

Hmmm hahn on stock lsj header dp was loud as balls when I heard it but not as loud as my old Megan was. The Megan muffler is funky as hell too.

Mr Nooblar, a very successful conversion with good performance potential imho is a stock LSJ cat back. I have taken pictures of the systems all together, and frankly although I keep hearing that the 2.4 has an LSJ system I have not seen that. The 2.2 system at least is like sucking beer through a straw its so small.

I think a stock LNF system would be too loud, although normally aspirated motors are easier to quiet down than the SC. Both LSJ and LNF stock systems are popular take offs and cheap, but the LSJ are hard to find unrusted and unmolested. I have one such LSJ system but it is cut. (Ugh I hate cut systems, its 8 bolts to drop the damn twisting beam and brake hose retainers to remove the whole thing it is so easy)

Zoomer is working on new systems to achieve the quite goal, but he is stuck on 3 inch and I dont beleive that is needed for power on an LSJ, face it, flow will support 500 hp and noone is getting a blower LSJ ANYWHERE NEAR THAT LOL! I have some (well not really new) information on long strand stuff to pack resonators and mufflers with, I am going to send to ZZP. I have no interest in the exhaust business other than stfu my own car...Corsa , who were sold from the Browning family to another outfit (sad but true, a sign of the times) and no longer custom build, have no plans to build more Cobalt systems which are no longer in stock, and generally speaking could care less about anything if it doesnt sell a few hundred units a week/month etc I will ppst pictures in a minute

the 2.2 show in off an 07 Ion coupe I put the LSJ system on. I have a 2.2 cobalt system as well, the only difference is the muffler is shaped like the LSJ/LNF one and the tip is straight/ angle cuttoff like the LSJ

Mr Nooblar has a stock LSJ cat back. Couple of things are interesting; the inlet to the resonator is very small 2.2 inches, but the interior of the resonator is at least 2.5 . The exit pipe to the resonator and up to the axle over is 2.5 then drops to 2.2 over the axle, then to the muffler which is very restrictive, but quiet. The last system I had I v band the muffler so I could take it on and off, but I ran that LSJ muffler system down to TOTD v.2 and as Steddy can tell you, it was fast enuf. lol

Now I am poised to spend another 800 or so on a different cat back 2.5 inch system but in the meantime I am considering:

adapt LSJ resonator to LNF cat back replacing LNF Short resonator with the LSJ loooong one.

the trying that with a straight through LNF Muffler, v band connection. see how it is, then v banded lsj muffler ditto. then corsa rear muffler ditto

once noise level is determined, off to the dyno

not sure where the entire new2.5 system is headed.

sent zoomer some information on special long strand packing so he can research some more doing his thing.

    cliff notes:

3.0 unneccessary why do we use it? interntez savvy
2.5 better and can flow 500 hp engineering calculations are done
parts of LSJ system appear good; stock lsj system less rear muffler used in Grand Am saw no reduction in power over 3.0 inch straight pipe when rules makers trampled on supercharged success and took the 3 inch away
    some options are expensive.
none of the magnaflow borla or dynomax have worked for me but all are 3.0 inch
In canada the GMPP 2.5 system if installed by a dealer carries a lifetime replacement warranty.

My previous setup I really liked. Most around me with lsj's, thought it sounded good. Really surprised people when they heard it on dyno. I had Racing solutions shorty(same as badmab), lsj dp, custom 2.25 piping, no res, corsa box style 2.25 muffler. Corsa sounds best imo

I don't think I'm making enough power to care about the exhaust size... It will be a nice change of pace to not turn the radio up so high.

I think the LSJ system will work well for you. I have done a few of those on 2.2's
